Ingredients

8 oz spaghetti or linguine

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tbsp unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 lemon

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until the shrimp turns pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute, stirring constantly to ensure it doesn’t burn.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Lower the heat and add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Pour in the lemon juice and zest, then toss to coat the pasta in the garlic butter. If the mixture seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

Add Shrimp and Finish: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together until well combined. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley. Plate the pasta in serving bowls and garnish with grated Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy: Serve immediately and savor the delightful flavors!
