1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

For the Strawberry Layer:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup fresh strawberries, puréed

2 tbsp milk

For the Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup heavy cream

2 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three 8-inch round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.

    Make the Vanilla Layer: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract. Gradually add the flour mixture and milk, mixing until just combined. Pour into one of the prepared cake pans.

      Make the Chocolate Layer: In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Repeat the mixing process as with the vanilla layer: beat butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla, and then mix in the dry ingredients and milk. Pour into the second prepared cake pan.

        Make the Strawberry Layer: In a new bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, then mix thoroughly. Incorporate the strawberry purée and milk until smooth. Pour into the last prepared cake pan.

          Bake the Layers: Place the cake pans in the preheated oven. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in their pans for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and cool completely on wire racks.

            Make the Frosting: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, alternating with heavy cream, and mix until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt until well combined.

              Assemble the Cake: Once the layers are completely cooled, place the vanilla layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top. Next, place the chocolate layer and frost the top, then repeat this with the strawberry layer, applying frosting evenly around the entire cake.
