Crispy Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

12 string cheese sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian seasoned)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper

Cooking spray

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Prepare the Cheese Sticks: Cut each string cheese stick in half, giving you a total of 24 pieces. Freeze them for about 30 minutes to an hour to ensure they hold their shape while cooking.

    Set Up Breading Stations: In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station. In the first bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs until smooth. In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.

      Coat the Cheese Sticks: Remove the cheese sticks from the freezer. Dip each stick into the flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it in the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it’s fully covered. Repeat until all cheese sticks are coated.

        Double Dip for Extra Crunch (Optional): For an extra crispy texture, you can dip the breaded cheese sticks back into the egg and breadcrumbs one more time.

          Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

            Air Fry the Mozzarella Sticks: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the breaded mozzarella sticks in a single layer in the basket, making sure they don’t touch. Depending on your air fryer’s size, you may need to do this in batches.

              Cook to Perfection: Air fry the mozzarella sticks for 6-8 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent overcooking.

                Serve: Once done, carefully remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
