Ingredients

2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1 egg

½ cup milk

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Start by slicing the apples into even rings about ½ inch thick. Be sure to remove the seeds and core so they’re safe and delicious to eat!

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and granulated sugar.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined.

Gradually pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just combined. The batter should be thick but smooth.

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

Dip each apple ring into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated, then roll it gently in the breadcrumbs to get a nice crunchy exterior.

Arrange the coated apple rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overcrowded; you may need to cook them in batches.

Lightly spray the tops of the apple rings with cooking spray to help them crisp up.

Air fry the apple rings for about 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time until they are golden brown and crispy.

Once done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. If desired, dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.

Serve warm, and enjoy this cozy fall treat with family and friends!
