1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Slaw:

2 cups green cabbage, shredded

1 cup red cabbage, shredded

1 carrot, grated

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon lime juice

Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving:

Small corn tortillas (8-10)

Lime wedges

Avocado slices

Salsa (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Fish Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk and hot sauce (if using). Add the fish fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes to help tenderize the fish and infuse flavor.

Preheat the Air Fryer: While the fish marinates, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Coat the Fish: Remove the fish from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Dredge each fillet in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating. Place the coated fillets on a plate.

Air-Fry the Fish: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated fish fillets in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they are not overlapping. Spray the tops of the fish fillets lightly with more cooking spray. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Make the Slaw: While the fish is cooking, prepare the slaw. In a large bowl, combine both cabbages, grated carrot, and cilantro. In a separate small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to combine. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Warm the Tortillas: Just before serving, warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or wrap in a damp towel and microwave for about 20-30 seconds.

Assemble the Tacos: To assemble, place a piece of crispy air-fried fish on each tortilla. Top generously with slaw, add avocado slices, and finish with a squeeze of lime. If desired, top with salsa for additional flavor.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side and enjoy your crunchy air-fried fish tacos!
