Ingredients

6 large dill pickles (whole)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko recommended for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Ranch dressing or dipping sauce of choice (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Pickles: Drain the pickles and pat them dry with paper towels. Cut each pickle in half lengthwise, so you have spears. Make sure to completely dry them to ensure the coating sticks well.

Setup the Breading Station: In a shallow bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper.

      Coat the Pickle Spears:

        - First, coat each pickle spear in the flour, shaking off any excess.

          - Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, letting the excess drip off.

            - Finally, roll the coated spear in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the pickle to ensure it adheres well. Place the breaded pickles on a plate.

Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This helps achieve a crispy texture.

Air-Fry the Pickles: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the pickle spears in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they don’t touch each other (you may need to do this in batches). Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.

Cooking Time: Air fry the pickles at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.

Serving: Once done, carefully remove the pickle spears from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch dressing, or enjoy them plain!
