Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

2 tablespoons green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Steamed broccoli or mixed vegetables (optional, for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined. Set aside.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Allow the salmon to marinate for about 15-30 minutes in the refrigerator to soak up the flavors.

Cook the Salmon: Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess sauce to drip off. Cook the salmon for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it flakes easily with a fork and is cooked to your liking. Brush the salmon with the remaining teriyaki sauce during the last couple of minutes of cooking for added flavor.

Prepare the Rice: While the salmon is cooking, heat the cooked jasmine rice in a separate pot or microwave until warmed through. You can fluff the rice with a fork for a better texture.

Serve: Place a generous scoop of rice on each plate. Top with a cooked salmon fillet, drizzle with additional teriyaki sauce if desired, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with steamed broccoli or mixed vegetables on the side for a nutritious meal.
