Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

Prep Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes. Set aside about 1/4 cup of the marinade for basting later.

Marinate Pork Chops: Place the pork chops in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chops, ensuring they are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.

Preheat Pan: Remove the pork chops from the marinade and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. While they are resting, heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook Pork Chops: Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops to the pan. Cook them for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them, allowing a golden crust to develop. Turn them over and reduce the heat to medium.

Baste and Flip: Brush the pork chops with the reserved marinade and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, basting occasionally. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (62°C). If desired, you can flip them a couple of times for even cooking.

Glaze Time: After cooking, remove the pork chops from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes. During this time, you can add the leftover marinade to the pan, bring it to a simmer, and reduce it down until it thickens slightly for an extra glaze.

Serve: Plate the pork chops and drizzle the thickened sauce over them. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added texture and flair.

Enjoy: Serve the Honey-Glazed Pork Chops with steamed rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal!
