1 pound ground turkey

1 medium sweet potato, cooked and mashed (about 1 cup)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (can use whole wheat or gluten-free)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 large egg

1 jar (about 24 oz) marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.

    Mix the Meatball Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, mashed sweet potato, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and the egg. Mix until everything is well combined, but do not overmix.

      Form the Meatballs: Using your hands, shape the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs and place them in the prepared baking dish in a single layer. You should get about 20-25 meatballs.

        Add Marinara Sauce: Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs, making sure they are well covered.
